The first Brazilian edition of the German festival Summer Breeze Open Air was held on the 29th and 30th of April 2023 at the Memorial da América Latina (SP), with more than 40 bands and four stages, the festival is already included in the official events calendar of São Paulo City Hall.

Organized by Free Pass Entertainment and Rock Consulate, the next edition is already scheduled for the 26th, 27th, and 28th of April 2024, and we will be playing alongside a myriad of bands, check out the incredible line-up in the poster below and get your tickets HERE.

AFM RECORDS has announced today the release their “25 Years Metal Addiction – The Rare & The Unreleased” album on 29th October. As the title suggests, only songs have been taken into account that were previously unpublished, came as bonus material from country-exclusive editions (e.g. Japanese pressings) or were previously only available digitally. For the occasion the label has chosen to include our song “Life, Love, Death,” previously only available as a Japanese bonus track for “The End Of Chaos” album.

Pre-order the 2CD digipack HERE.

Since a quarter of a century now, AFM Records has dedicated itself to delivering high class metal and hard rock. Numerous chart successes and international awards pave the way. On the occasion of the company’s 25th the label was trawling trawling through its archives, and numerous (previously unknown) treasures were unearthed. The result will see the light of day on October 29th (2021) in the form of “25 Years Metal Addiction – The Rare & The Unreleased“.

A fine selection of those tunes was now gathered on this comprehensive, entertaining compilation. However, thinking of leftovers or “rejects” would be totally misleading here; rather, the quality of the contributions is consistently surprising and one wonders again and again how these pearls have been withheld from the metal world so far.

“25 Years Metal Addiction – The Rare & The Unreleased“, which comes as 2CD in a digipak (and at a special price), finally crosses the finish line after 30 songs and almost 140 minutes of playing time. The slightly different compilation – for real metal fans and collectors!

Arizona thrash and speed metal icons FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have revealed a short run of tour dates for North America during August of this year. Dubbed the “Brace For Impact Summer Tour 2021” the trek begins on August 17th at Albuquerque, New Mexico and wraps on August 28th in Mesa, Arizona. Find the full itinerary below.

The band recently released their unanimously lauded studio album “Blood In The Water”. The no filler, all killer record was once again mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (U.D.O., Volbeat, Amaranthe, Powerwolf) and sees FLOTSAM AND JETSAM exploding with creativity, moving forward but nodding to their past.

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have come a long way from the kids that stepped onto the world stage with their first album in 1986, but the one thing that has never been in question since that day is their dedication to their fans, their incredible talent, and relentless pursuit to produce their best music ever.

“Following up ‘The End of Chaos’ was no easy task.” Guitarist Michael Gilbert adds. “We weren’t really sure what we had left in the tank, as we put so much work, sweat, and blood into that album. As it turns out, we had plenty left to say. With everything that’s happened in the world, the friends we lost this last year, and not being able to perform or tour… you hear all of that in our music. It’s angry, it’s aggressive, and our emotions pour out all over this album.”

The FLOTSAM lineup has never been stronger. AK keeps bringing the magic every album and tour, and oddly seems to be getting better and better as time goes on. He’s backed by the incredibly talented, exceptionally brilliant guitar duo of co-founder Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley, the powerful, precise and lightning fast engine of drummer Ken Mary, (whose Hall of Fame resume includes over five million albums sold with artists such as Alice Cooper, House Of Lords, and Accept), and the “fresh blood” and extraordinary technical skills and prowess of bassist Bill Bodily.

Thrash and Speed Metal icons FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have seen many of their peers that started at the same time, including Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Venom have their day in the sun. Considered in metal circles as “legendary”, the mighty FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, over their long career, has seemed somewhat plagued by label snafu’s, changes in trends, or other unfortunate events. On album number fourteen, and without a doubt making the best music of their career, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM finally smells blood in the water this time around. Slated for a release on June 4, 2021 through AFM Records, “Blood In The Water” literally shreds the listener’s ears and pummels FLOTSAM AND JETSAM’s message into the hearts of the most diehard metal fans, the album must be heard to be believed. Featuring twelve brutal and powerful tracks that will rip your head off, the outstanding guitar work of Michael Gilbert and these killer vocals by Eric AK – one of the most gifted metal singers in music history – FLOTSAM AND JETSAM‘s “Blood In The Water” will see the band deliver one of their heaviest records to date!

With the unveiling of the previously-released single “Burn The Sky”FLOTSAM AND JETSAM gave a first and impressive sneak peak of their forthcoming album. Now, the thrash heavy weights have unleashed the thunderous album opener and title track with a brand new video! “Blood In The Water” let’s you know right off that these guys aren’t messing around as the song comes screaming out of the speakers with a frenzied rhythm section, these passionate vocals by AK and guitars blazing on ten! Watch the new FLOTSAM AND JETSAM video for “Blood In The Water” below.

It’s been 35 years since FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, formed in Phoenix, Arizona released their landmark debut, “Doomsday For The Deceiver”, the only album to ever receive a 6K rating from the influential British magazine Kerrang! Bassist Jason Newsted would jump ship to Metallica while the band released the unstoppable “No Place for Disgrace” in 1988. “Cuatro” (1992), “Drift” (1995), “High” (1997), and “My God” (2001) all still rank extremely high in heavy metal circles. But it was the first part of this unofficial trilogy in 2016’s self-titled FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, followed by the the crushing 2019- successor, “The End Of Chaos”, that a certain rejuvenation and reset was clearly felt. Fast-forward five years to a planet that was forced to its knees: While spending most of the past year in a holding pattern like the rest of the world, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM made the best of a struggling situation and just let those creative juices and angst flow. What emerged was twelve brand new blistering tracks under the moniker “Blood In The Water” .

“We really had a hell of a time figuring out which songs to actually include in this album, because we don’t feel we had any fillers,” describes Steve Conley about the new songs clocking in at nearly 55 minutes of thrashing glory.

Says singer Eric “AK” Knutson, “We’ve seen our fan base increasing, and we’ve seen the response to the last two albums getting louder and louder. We have some of the most committed and crazy fans in the world. We charted higher on our last album than at any point in our career. Maybe our career path will run similar to Motorhead’s, who although was always considered iconic, didn’t really break through in a big way until later in their career. We feel our time is now…” says AK. “We’re like that dog that’s been kicked…we’re ready to break the door down and take what’s ours.”

And the FLOTSAM lineup has never been stronger.

Legendary thrash metallers FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have unveiled the first single of their upcoming studio album “Blood in the Water” via the official music video for the pummeling track “Burn the Sky” which can be watched below.

“While we were in the process of selecting which songs we would use for the album’s videos, ‘Burn the Sky’ was the only one that was on everyone’s lists consistently” – commented front-man Eric A.K. during a full-band video interview aired this past Friday via Bravewords and Sonic Perspectives“This track has some guitar work by Mike and Steve that are second to none.”

“We really had a hell of a time figuring out which songs actually include in this album, because we don’t feel we have any fillers” – added guitarist Michael Gilbert. When asked about why the band’s sound have evolved throughout the last albums to a much heavier output, he said:  “I don’t want anyone feeling we are getting fuck**g old. As long as we continue doing this, we are gonna bring it. Our sound changed through the years influenced by many factors, but what you are listening to now is who we are and will continue to be”

“The recording of this album was very much a natural process, we really worked together as a team to make sure that everything that needed to be on the record, was indeed on it. I haven’t listened to it for a while and I went back and listened recently, and it really gives the impression that we are really angry” commented drummer Ken Mary.

“Flotzilla fans!

We are very excited to announce the launch of our newly designed website and online store, now located at www.flotstildeath.com. After several months of hard work and dedication, we are delighted to bring it up for you starting today.

First and foremost we want to say thanks for you confidence and support to the band throughout the years. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for dedicated fans like you. We have envisioned this page as the one-stop place for all things Flotsam and Jetsam, where you will be able to gather upcoming exclusive content, the latest news, and more. We wanted to make the new website faster, easier to navigate, and more user-friendly.

Among the new features the site contains a dedicated discography page, with lyrics for all our studio releases, and tons of details of each album. And there’s also an newly designed online store, where you can purchase our tees and CDs, and we will be adding more products gradually. Please take 5 minutes of your time and check it out, and help us to spread the news among the metal community.

We have the best fans a band can hope for and we look forward to build an even closer relationship with all the crazy and loyal Flotzilla followers out there. This new site is the brainchild of one of our fans, Joel Barrios. He designed and created everything from scratch, and if you are in need of some killer website design,  we wholeheartedly recommend you to check his skills at www.norrsken.photography.

Now, while you start browsing this page and discovering around, is time for us to go back and resume working on new music of what will become the next Flotsam and Jetsam album. Be safe and healthy at home, and more importantly stay heavy!

See you all soon in a venue near you

The band”

“We have an unfortunate announcement to make, though we suspect most of you won’t be surprised. Due to extreme circumstances outside of our control and related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the touring activities for 2020 Demolition of North America trek are postponed. Only four European dates are yet to be postponed as they are scheduled for later in the year. With all the bans being imposed on gatherings and all the health concerns involved, there was simply no way around to keep the April and May dates.

We are working hard behind the scenes to reschedule the dates as soon as it is safe for everyone. There’s nothing we enjoy more than playing for our fans, and we were looking forward to playing both Europe and North American this year, but health is the most valuable thing in life and we need to ensure that the well-being of everyone is not at stake at any of our shows.

All of your favorite bands, now more than ever, need your support. The best and fastest way you can do this is by picking up a shirt from one of their online stores (ours is now up and running at this location). These sorts of funds are the ones that pass through to a band the fastest and will help to keep them going through this down season, a roof over their family, and food in their children’s mouths.

We understand this infectious plague is spreading rapidly and negatively affecting more of us each and every day. We encourage all of you to look after yourselves properly, maintain hygienic practices and social distances, and pay attention to all governing and medical advisories.

In the meantime, we are going to continue to work on new music!

All our love,

The band”

Our very own Michael Gilbert has uploaded GoPro footage of the band on the road during Killfest 2019, also featuring Overkill, Destruction and Chronosphere.

Mike states: “Everyone who knows me knows I have a GoPro in my pocket at all times. I try to capture everything I can on the Flotsam tours and no one is safe from ending up some sort of footage. LOL! These are some fun times on Flotsam And Jetsam’s European tour with Overkill, Destruction and Chronosphere. Fun times with some old friends and new friends….\m/“
